Sumitomo Corporation comes to an agreement with Idemitsu Kosan, Terviva, and Stanmore Resources Limited to participate in a pilot plantation project in Australia utilizing Pongamia, a non-edible oilseed crop that serves as a feedstock for Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), under the technical insight of Terviva, which has advanced expertise in pongamia genetics and processing technologies. The pilot will cover approximately 50 hectares of land around coal mines in Queensland operated by Stanmore. This marks our first participation in a SAF feedstock manufacturing business utilizing vegetable oils, and will accelerate the growth of our Energy Solutions business.
